The touted granddaddy of desert off-road races, the 2026 SCORE Baja 1000, is set to kickoff its 59th running on November 13 in San Jose Del Cabo. For its first-ever start of the famed desert race in San Jose Del Cabo, where the looped race will start and finish. The BFGoodrich Tires 59th SCORE Baja 1000 has only ever started in Baja California Norte, most often in Ensenada. Racers will compete in a myriad of race classes that features trucks, 4x4s, buggies, UTVs (Side-by-Sides), dirt bikes, ATVs, and the legendary SCORE Trophy Trucks.
Over the years, this legendary event has attracted competitors from Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and the Americas, as well as high-profile figures such as Academy Award-winner Paul Newman; formers IndyCar Series champion Sebastien Bourdais and Jimmy Vasser; past Dakar Rally winners Toby Price, Nasser Al-Attiyah, Hubert Auriol, Ricky Brabec, and Cyril Despres; former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button; and film actor Patrick Dempsey.

The historic 59th SCORE Baja 1000 off-road race boasts a never-before-seen race course in the famed desert race’s history. For the first time, it will run entirely within the mountains, deserts, and beaches of Baja California Sur. This year’s looped off-road race will start and finish in the Municipality of Los Cabos. The specific start/finish location is rumored to be within the San Jose de Cabo Zona Hotelera, along the Malecon San Jose in front of Royal Solaris Los Cabos and Viceroy Los Cabos.

The 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship will take place exclusively on the Baja California Peninsula, marking the 11th consecutive year that all SCORE events will be held in Mexico—including the legendary SCORE Baja 1000 in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, often referred to as “The November Classic of Off-Road Racing.” This historic edition also marks the 53rd anniversary of SCORE International, recognized as the world’s premier off-road racing organization. The 2026 season will include four official rounds: three in Baja California (San Felipe and Ensenada), and one in Baja California Sur (Los Cabos).
